For over 14 years, the billiard café stood empty, its walls and corners still bearing the traces of its former life. Lara Beilharz recognized the untapped potential of this space. Rather than ignoring the past, she chose to incorporate it into the new work environment.

The billiard motif was intended to serve as a bridge between the old world and the modern workplace. This is reflected in various abstract elements: The rounded shapes that flow through the space recall the curved lines of a billiard table, while the round privacy screens are deliberately reminiscent of the shape of billiard cues. An old billiard table was carefully restored and integrated into the new design – a mark of appreciation for the history of the place. The vibrant colors that flow through the space are an uplifting contrast to the former muted tones of the café.

A key feature of the project is the diverse zones and areas that cater to the varied needs of the employees. From quiet zones for focused work to meeting areas and inviting lounge spaces for informal conversations – the rooms were thoughtfully designed to support different working styles. Various floor coverings were used to define these zones, and a large carpenter's cube was placed in the center of the room. Curtains were skillfully used to promote both privacy and openness simultaneously.
